Travelling Tips
-
Always carry a car tidy bag when travelling.
-
If you are a smoker, dispose of cigarette butts properly - use your vehicle ash tray.
-
Always dispose of litter responsibly - use a bin, or better still, take your litter home.
-
Minimise disturbance to roadside vegetation - many rare and threatened species can now only be found on our roadside verges.
-
Avoid parking on roadside areas that are grassed - vehicle exhausts are a potential fire hazard.
-
If toilet facilities are not available and you get 'caught short' while travelling - 'Bury It' - carry a metal shovel and bury all faecal waste & paper - toilet paper litter mucks it up for everyone!
-
Consider forming a Road Watch group in your local area - 'adopt' a road and carry out regular environmental activities such as litter clean ups or revegetation work.
