NRM Education
Natural Resource Management - NRM - is all about protecting our environment from damage caused by water pollution, sediment run-off, pesticides and chemicals and non-native flora... it's about managing our land in a responsible and sympathetic way.
As schools work towards sustainability, the partnership between KESAB and the Adelaide and Mount Lofty Ranges NRM Board has been a major support initiative. NRM Education, the flagship education program for the NRM Board, supports education for sustainability via the Australian Sustainable Schools Initiative, Waterwatch and Weed Warriors.
The NRM Education team works with schools by delivering teacher Professional Development, assisting with school environmental management planning, supporting youth-lead environmental projects and coordinating schools sharing events. Other activities include providing best practice hands-on learning activities and supporting local councils, students, teachers and the wider community to monitor water quality at over 200 sites.
