Statewide Recycling (located at Duncan Court, Ottoway), is a Super Collector of 10 cent deposit containers from recycling depots throughout South Australia. Aluminium cans, plastic drink bottles and milk and juice cartons are collected and processed ready for transport to facilities in Australia and overseas.

The newly renovated education centre at Statewide Recycling is the perfect setting for education about container deposit legislation, reusing, reducing and recycling for students, community and corporate groups. Visit Statewide and give recycling a kick start in your school or business!

Visitors to the centre are provided with safety glasses and ear plugs for a walking tour of the 'shed' to see the sorting and baling of drink containers which are then transported for recycling. Click here to view Statewide Recycling processing images. (342KB)

The centre showcases the latest recycled products and features a moving conveyor sorting activity, natural resources and 'Wipe Out Waste' magnet activites, a thought provoking  'Eco-shop' and litter and e-cycle recovery displays. The recently launched DVD "Recycling Makes Cents" is screened to show collection systems from school, home and through your local recycling depot. Purchase DVD. View media release.

All visitors to Statewide Recycling receive a ruler made from recycled plastic and teachers are provided with a range of resources and posters for follow up activities.

Schools wishing to accomodate two classes of students can visit That's Not Garbage for a craft activity, alternating between the two venues. Download flyer (PDF 166KB)

Booking Information

The Statewide Recycling Education Centre is available for group visits Monday to Friday (8.30am – 3.00pm).         

Group size – Minimum 20 / Maximum 35 per session.

Single Class / Group (20 – 32 students + adults)            

90 minute visit includes Education Centre session and site tour. Extra time can be allocated for recess/lunch breaks. 

Small groups (community, special education, industry and VET) 60 minute visit and site tour by negotiation.
